COVID-19 Food Pack Program
As you know, one of our Friends of Oregon School District (FOSD) initiatives is providing Food Packs for students in need during school breaks. In response to the current COVID-19 crisis, FOSD has continued to provide food packs and, since this all began in March, we have seen a 40% growth in the number of students needing food packs.
Despite this hard reality, we have AMAZING NEWS! Over the last month, our community has donated more than $40,000 towards our special COVID-19 Fund so we are able to continue to provide food. Each of these Food Packs provides at least two weeks worth of breakfast, snacks, and lunch, as well as some family dinner foods, including a coupon for free pizza (and delivery).

Many of you have asked WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP! Now that schools are closed for the remainder of the year, we know students assisted by our Food Pack Program need encouragement and support more than ever. So, we are inviting you and your kids to WRITE AN ENCOURAGING MESSAGE OR NOTE that we will place in each food pack that is delivered. We would love to have enough notes/cards to include in the food packs through the end of the school year.
Next Steps:
-
Complete the form below by writing a short message of encouragement to students and their families. For example: “Oregon cares about you!” Or “You got this!” etc., or
-
Create your own cards or handwritten notes and drop them off at the Swartzmiller & Associates Office (990 Janesville St. Oregon, next to Cousins Subs) in a box just inside the door.
*Please submit your message below or your notes and cards by NOON, FRIDAY, APRIL 24.
We are SO grateful for the the outpouring of generosity we have witnessed in this community and we know that, when we keep looking out for one another, we will get through this!!
